Vino saír do hospital
cun abrigo de muller sobre o brazo.
Evidentemente ela non o necesita máis.
Os lentes de sol que o levaba non podían
ocultar a súa cara húmida e o seu desconcerto.
Como unha burla o día era brillante
e o aire suave para ser decembro. Aínda así
el subiu a cremalleira do seu abrigo e atouse
a carapucha baixo o barbarote, preparándose
para un frío irremediábel.
Coats
I saw him leaving the hospital
with a woman´s coaat over his arm.
Clearly she would not need it.
The sunglasses he wore could not
conceal his wet face, his bafflement.
As if in mockery the day was fair,
and the air mild for December. All the same
he had zipped his own coat and tied
the hood under his chin, preparing
for a irremediable cold.

con un abrigo de mujer sobre el brazo.
